'The Dark Knight' to Be Rereleased on Imax Screens in 4 Cities
Imax is set to release The Dark Knight, Christopher Nolan's groundbreaking take on the Batman franchise, on its giant screens to mark the film's 10th anniversary, the Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Pictures and Legendary Entertainment superhero tentpole, which starred Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne, will receive an exclusive, one-week engagement starting Aug. 24.
The Dark Knight release, which topped out at $1.003 billion worldwide box office in 2008, included the late Heath Ledger with an Oscar-winning performance as the Joker.
A decade later, Imax theaters in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Toronto will play The Dark Knight on their giant screens to mark the milestone anniversary.
