When Will Brock🏆 Defend the Universal title⁉️
Brock Lesnar may still defend the Universal Championship at Summer Slam despite the cancelled No1 Contender’s Match at Extreme Rules.
RAW General Manager Kurt Angle revealed last Monday night that the Multi-man No1 Contender’s Match for the Universal title has been axed due to contractual issues between Lesnar and WWE management.
The announcement prompted rumours suggesting that The Beast may not compete at SummerSlam and might also not return to the ring for a long time.
However, according to WrestleVotes, The Beast is still expected to appear in the biggest Pay-Per-View of the summer on August 19 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
WrestleVotes tweeted: “Lot of false rumblings circulating about Brock Lesnar & SummerSlam. Unless something is seriously wrong between the two parties, he’ll be working the event, and I haven’t heard that to be the case. Its storyline at this point. Brock will be in Brooklyn.”
Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley were the first names announced for the Multi-man No1 Contender’s Match that would take place on July 15 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
If the match doesn’t happen then Reigns and Lashley may face each other at Extreme Rules in a one-on-one match.
There are also rumours suggesting that The Big Dog will team up with ex-Shield partner Seth Rollins to take on Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre.
Lesnar’s last match took place at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia last April where he beat Reigns in a controversial Steel Cage Match.
The three-time world champion speared the Conqueror through the cage but wasn’t awarded the belt even though his feet touched the floor first. Rumours suggest the two RAW superstars will rekindle their rivalry this summer but Rollins and Money in the Bank winner Braun Strowman also seem to be in line for a title shot.
